Praying moderators is actually a very bad idea. If people get paid for moderating, then they may get dependent on it financially. As a result, they will likely be inclined to act pro-Reddit whenever there is a conflict.

I think this is a really nice idea! By having different planets, this is basically four different expansions in one, plus the space stuff. I am really interested in what will make the planets special. One looks kinda deserty (no water?), one looks very green (dangerous fauna?), and the last one rather icy (will the cold be a problem?). Whatever they chose for the planets, I am sure it is gonna be really interesting!

Find ich richtig gut. Ein komplett rechtsfeier Raum soll das Internet ja nicht sein. Meines Erachtens nach ein Grund zu feiern. Ich bin mal gespannt, was bei den Deadlines im nächsten Jahr dann dabei herauskommt.

Einen Kommentar muss ich aber abgeben. Sie haben die Öffnung der geschlossenen Gärten als Ziel damit begründet, dass deren Vormachtstellung aktuell einen Haufen negativer Effekte auf die Gesellschaft hat. Die Monopolisierung an sich haben sie aber nicht als selbststehendes Argument gebracht. Das finde ich aber auch extrem wichtig, da wir ja im Kapitalismus leben, und Kapitalismus davon lebt, dass Monopole leicht aufgebrochen werden können, wenn sich ein Konkurrent nur ein wenig Mühe gibt.

This kinda ignores how early access is a great tool for indie developers catering to a small audience. They don’t need to bend down for some publisher that then sets them rules, but freely decide what they do. And if whatever they do turns out to attract not enough customers, they can simply stop, get a job at a company. And don’t need to worry about what the publisher wants.

Point two can be argued about if we say “no software project should have more than three responsible people.” Anyone can contribute, but there are at most three people deciding how the code should be and keeping an overview over everything.

Sound strange? How would we have ever landed on the moon with this? Answer: develop the whole system as a set of libraries that form a nice dependency tree all the way up to the one library that executes rocket launch on button press.

Each library does one thing very well, and each library is designed with the passion and thoughtfulness of someone’s hobby open source project.

They could still generate these more economically on the client. Download a set of samples and the algorithm that generates noise out of them. Or just the algorithm, if no samples are required. If someone listens to this for more than a few minutes, it may already pay off, depending on the size of the samples.

Das kling irgendwie so als hätten Journalisten ein paper gesehen und ohne zu hinterfragen übernommen. Gerade in der Motivation wird doch meistens ne Menge überverkauft. Die Überschrift vom Artikel ist dann nur noch reiner Klickbait. Wenn das Molekül in aktueller Ersatzmilch nicht enthalten ist, würde das ja bedeuten, dass Kinder, die nicht gestillt wurden, jetzt dümmer sind. Das hätte garantiert schon jemand gemerkt.
