Well yeah but his sentiment is about Linux in general especially with their store only being supported on windows (maybe Mac as well?). Idc about fortnite but would be nice if more companies take the effort to support or simply stop kicking Linux out.
Oh I am confident they log everything as well but I don’t know if they would do anything about some Lemmy traffic once in a while. I don’t think they can afford to check everything if its not flagged or something like that but seems too risky especially when you can just use mobile data.
Not really no, have you regularly played on stable high fps? Could understand if your rig struggles with some games and sutters so you ate locking the fps but preferring 30 over a stable 90 just looks insane to me.
Pretty much yes but moving your arm by a little isn’t really that hard and can be done without lifting your elbow. I don’t find it tiring even after a full day of usage but maybe I am just used to it.
I am not tall but I would say my hand is a bit more than average, about 18 ish cm I would say. I always find palm grip as shown in the picture to be comfortable but the base of my palm firmly rests on the mousepad and the fingers and top part of palm will be on the mouse. Also a reason I can’t use a small mouse as the top side of my palm can never rest on the mouse without my fingers going past the keys.
Main point aside, that isn’t photorealism tho. Photorealism is depicting something almost identical to a real life photograph or simply what most consider realistic graphics.
Been using amoled for few yrs now, on my previous and current phone. Have never experienced any burn in or heard any burn in complaints on mobile before. Don’t know what was your experience but its definitely exaggerated.
I wouldn’t mind paying for a service given I pay for my email provider when I can get gmail for free. Pretty ignorant to ignore the whole monopoly and say sToP uSiNg YoUtUbE tHeN. I will take what I need and I won’t give a penny or my data to those dicks. I also hope they paywall so there will be competitive services that I can happily pay for :)
You may think so but there’s always a bunch of posts about why people can’t switch out of chromium in every other Firefox related posts. There are few significant differences and some don’t wanna make any compromise for something better.
Infinity Ward, one of the three main Call of Duty development studios, has opened up a new branch. While each era of Call of Duty tends to have its star team, Infinity Ward certainly is leading the current era of the series, having reclaimed its top spot with 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot.
The new studio is located in Austin, Texas - which is itself increasingly forming its own hub of video game development.
As reported by VGC, the studio is currently recruiting, and will, unsurprisingly, work on Call of Duty. The available roles include design, and UI.
“The studio will work on creating new and innovative experiences for Call of Duty and create state of the art technology to power them,” reads a job ad.
“Our studio provides a safe, trusting, and empowering environment to unleash your creativity and help make the extraordinary.”
This is Infinity Ward’s second new studio opening in 2023, having established one in Barcelona, Spain last summer. The focus of the Spain studio, however, was a little more clear, and that was creating art for Call of Duty.
Infinity Ward seems to have a good handle on that sort of distributed work flow. Its Poland studio, of course, is famous for pioneering the most recent iteration of the IW Engine, which first saw public release in Modern Warfare 2019, and has been used in multiple projects since.
Activision previously said it’s unifying all tech under the same engine, meaning all future Call of Duty games will rely on that IW Engine - including Treyarch’s next project. Though the Treyarch game is expected in 2024, it is not clear whether Infinity Ward’s next title is locked in for 2025 or a different year.

People or rather I didn’t buy pixel as its more privacy friendly but its the only one available here that let’s me install another ROM on day 1 without voiding warranty. And grapheneos being one of the best privacy focused ROM only available for pixel and that pretty much every ROM is available on pixel is another reason. I was basically forced into buying a google product as everyone else void warranty on unlocking boot loader or they don’t have much of a custom ROM scene.
Pixel is stock android and is guaranteed to not have bloat unless some carrier is involved in it. Whenever anyone here suggests pixel they are definitely doing it for custom ROM like grapheneos and its pointless to buy otherwise.
Nowadays I find a lot of games feel like too much work and/or anxiety when I just want to relax for like, 30 minutes to an hour after a long day. On the other hand, the games specifically designed to help you unwind just feel boring imo....

Hello, could someone recommended a keyboard for android that is a bit smart in predictive typing? I used to like swiftkeybefore it was bought by microsoft. Not that swiftkey itself was much better but I was not so privy conscious at that time....
Well what else do you need tho, it has glide typing, incognito move and auto correct is in development although would take a while. It’s not perfect but it’s already very much a fully decked out keyboard or it will be once suggestions are added.
It is also in the works along with auto correct… You really should try the keyboard first before coming to that conclusion. I am not saying it has everything now but don’t assume the developer isn’t planning to add more, that’s not a good assumption.
Those bank apps just need play service if I have to guess. Try installing microg. I am running grapheneos with their sand boxed play service in a separate profile, got some apps to work but not all so give it a shot.

Deepfakes are nothing new but the ease of access to said tools these days and its popularity are definitely something to be concerned about. Don’t downplay it.
Its not about proving if its fake or not. Would you be willing to go to school when you know there are people sitting next to you who made or have seen and shared deepfakes of you? It is disgusting and a terrible experience that can’t be solved by just saying its fake.
The single best feature and the only one that I looked for before buying my pixel was the custom ROM support. Installed grapheneos on day 1, nothing is the only other company in the market here that allows you to unlock bootloader without voiding the warranty so didn’t really have much choice to go for tbh. Would be nice if other ones like fairphone would expand out soon.
You rely on software that only few users use. Its not universal in the sense airtag users doesn’t ping tile and tile users doesn’t ping smart tag. I am not talking about the platform but the interconnectivity and user base as that’s what all of these tech rely on.
I did forgot about EU but don’t know if it will be possible for them to enforce it given the complications and lack of universal tech as in free to use by any of these companies.
