Lurker,

I’m totally not the guy to give this advice, but I am frequently told you can get almost any old game running on windows with the right emulators and know how. I don’t have the know how, but I’m sure you could figure it out if you spent a couple days learning about it.

Lurker,

I would prefer a civilization builder with that kind of personality. Live civ 5 mixed with baulders gate 3, with loads of asthetic choices for my towns, other civilizations to go to war with. Etc. Maybe you could play from the perspective of God, play the majority of the time in a top down cilization style, but then also have the option to go down to your planet as an avatar or profit or whatever and lead in a more hands on fashion to solve different issues. Say your chosen people are losing a war, you could become a great warrior and come down to help for a couple years. Idk, I just really love the idea of a civilization builder that feels more personal and involved.

Lurker,

Yup, that’s my problem in a nut shell. People make it sound really easy, and I’m sure with enough time and reading it would be, but man is that not just something I can do right now

Doctor Who: Here's Why David Tennant is The Face of The Modern Era (bleedingcool.com)

Let’s look back at Series Two of the modern era of Doctor Who, Russell T. Davies’ second season, and David Tennant’s first season as The Tenth Doctor. It was here that the series’ shift into a global phenomenon began, and Tennant became the face of the modern era of Doctor Who in the same way Tom Baker is still...

Lurker,

This is exactly why I love JW’S doctor. She perfectly encapsulated the personality of 10 and 11, while still being fun and fresh all on her own. I agree the writing was a bit… off? But she was brilliant.

Lurker,

I can’t find any music that matches the top two squares??? Just checked like all my playlists

Lurker,

This makes me so uncomfortable. I’ve beat off like 3 times now. Disgusting.

Lurker,

Great choices, my local stations are not fantastic and I would love some variety. I phrased my question in a bad way, I actually do have radio through a receiver, and have a couple radio apps in my back pocket just in case I can’t find something without ads. Thank you so much.

Lurker,

Absolutely love the heck out of pandora, but I can’t afford even a 5 dollar increase in budget atm. It may be worth it just for the month though.

Lurker,

I’ll check it out soon!

Lurker,

Those both sound like good recommendations, are they pg? As in clean, no bad words, sexual themes, drugs, etc?

Lurker,

This seems awesome. Totally going to have to try it out. Youtube is the best legal solution I could find, but the diffrence in volume between songs makes for a rough listening environment.

Lurker,

Awesome recommendation. This helps me out a ton. Thank you so much!

Lurker,

This month, here and now. But not every month. Things are tight and I can’t afford any more monthly expenses. There are other solutions I have found in this thread that meet my needs, but pandora remains my favorite music subscription service.

Lurker,

Fantastic information. Holy cow. I forgot spotify even had a website.

Lurker,

These are things I know nothing about, but I’m very happy you’ve given me something else to learn today. I’ve only ever used adblock extensions I have no clue about all of that. Gonna be a fun night.

Lurker,

After a close family friend of mine died, I sat on the floor and watched old episodes of price is right on youtube. I felt like I was 5 years old again

Just got my first entry level gaming pc! i have about 30 bucks to spend, what should i get for it?

I have all my hardware set up, including a new chair. MineCraft and baulders gate 3, terraria, and some freebies are my only games so far. I have a massive console and physical game collection that I love, so I’m really just looking for things that are definitively better on pc, only on pc, or software that I may not know...

Lurker,

Great recommendations. I love me some warframe. Only ever played it on ps4.

Lurker,

Absolutely. I usually use my ps vita for rom hacks, or my psp for older titles.

Lurker,

Not sure why you’re getting down voted, most of these titles are games I have not looked into and am excited to learn more about. Exactly what I needed.

Lurker,

I’m super excited to check some of these out. This is a really great list. I tried super tux kart on an old pc of mine and it went terribly. Pokemon emulators have always been my jam, mostly on mobile until I discovered infinite fusion. I left what games I like vague on purpose just to find lists like yours. I enjoy a ton of diffrent games and really want to see new stuff. Thank you!

Lurker,

That sounds like the kind of barging I’m all about. When’s it go on sale?

Lurker,

One of my favorite games. Loved it on ps4.

Lurker,

I have heard of both, could for sure see myself trying them out.

Lurker,

It’s a nvidia gtx something maybe? I’m not near it at the moment and don’t know anything about anything

Lurker,

My last chair was at an intense angel. My back is already feeling better. Gw2 is one of my all time favorite games. Bought it a but agyer it came out and reached the level cap. I tried to get back into it once but sort of “lost my spot”? I gave it an hour or so and never went back. I should jump back in sometime soon.

Lurker,

Thank you!

Lurker,

I left that part out intentionally. I like a bit of everything. I’m also looking for any cool software or anything else really!

Lurker,

Been a huge borderlands fan for years. Love love love it.

Lurker,

I appreciate the link! Checking it out now

What are some game genres / styles you like that aren't being made anymore, or are being mde but not very often?

For me it’s first person puzzle games. I can think of maybe a dozen off the top of my head that came out in the last decade. I especially enjoy when they’re open world. The ability to just quit a puzzle that’s stumped you and go try something else for a little bit is incredibly refreshing.

Lurker,

I may be in the completely wrong genre, but have you played pillers of eternity? I played a few hours of the second one and thought it was great.

Lurker,

Why do so many people, usually children, think digital games are a good idea? Absolute scam, and it’s only going to get worse. Next gen of consoles will probably be all digital. You will lose access to games for seemingly no reason, everything will be $70, no trading, no selling, and no one but the big guys making a dime from the sale.

Please shop at your local game stores, don’t buy digital. You are not only ripping yourself off, but helping to enable a future where you don’t even really own the games you buy. Look at ubisoft right now. You bought those games. You own them. They’re literally stealing games just to try and force you to buy another copy.

Con artists.

Lurker,

Huh I wonder why we don’t learn that in school. /s

Lurker,

I have a couple, and I love teaching my niece and nephew about them! Most superpowers can be learned with a bit of hard work! I taught my nephew how to switch between “eye contact” and actual direct eye contact when he needs to make sure his point is heard. He told me last Christmas that he still uses that trick on his parents and teachers and it works. I learned it in a sales job. My other super powers include speed reading (which my niece absues to get her assigned reading done faster), guessing people’s coat and pant sizes, and predicting peoples actions, emotions, etc. I’m no Sherlock Holmes, and attribute this last one to being adhd, but I was able to pass some of that onto the kids, and I think it helped them a lot. I think its important to see people clearly, like knowing the diffrence between someone being violent or angry vs having an anxiety attack. My niece and nephew have taken this to heart, and I can tell they have made a ton of effort to adopt this ‘Superpower’.

Knowledge itself is a super power, if you use it. The more you learn and attempt to understand without prejudice or bias, the stronger your power to help people becomes.

Lurker,

Avoid actual eye contact for the entire conversation by looking near or around the eyes. This part is also a good tip for anyone who struggles with eye contact. The next part comes when you need to make a strong point or get the listener to really believe you. All you do is switch to actual, direct eye contact. It catches people off guard but is subtle enough that it seems like nothing has changed.

Speed reading is basically just practice. Look up youtube tutorials and keep at it until it feels natural. Just don’t use it to actually read or you will miss things. My dad made me learn how to do it when i was a kid. While it’s uncomfortable for me, it does help me a lot when I’m in a rush.

Lurker,

I bet they just don’t like seeing all the awards go to fuck u/Spez posts.

Lurker,

How does one become a 196 mod

Lurker,

Someone name a mod I can drop some dong to

I designed a Material You app for Lemmy (lemmy.ml)

Hi everybody, I’m a UI/UX designer and I wanna contribute to the community here with my expertise. Here is a quick prototype for a Android Lemmy app with Material You Design, it’s a simple and customizable app. With this app, I also want to improve the experience when exploring different servers....

Lurker,

I’m really enjoying wefwef. It’s smooth and works well. No weirdness or issues on my end.
