I just want things to end. It's okay for things to be over. Star wars wasn't served by it's sequels, but here we are with a new WHATEVER every year. And marvel is worse, with a new show every month or two. Realistically, how long is anyone supposed to care?

I relate to this a lot, in my case the answer was weekly therapy for a year+. Being diagnosed with an anexity disorder and using medication to control it has only had positive effects on my life. I get that therapy is a lot harder to set up and actually do, much less than lemmy. But no one in this thread will help you get to the center of your problems. Trauma, fear and social anexity are not things that can be fixed with some catchy advice. I don't mean to criticize you for the post, I just see some people making bad jokes and thought I'd give my 2 cents.

Well, I'm not sure early stages fits, that's calling for a group to removed and Israel has been bombing water wells, while monopolizing all water supplies and providing only dangerously! small amounts of unclean water. Without question, this has caused unneeded deaths. Simmiliarly for electricity and food supplies.

It's tragically been a genocide for a long time.

I took a big box of cat-5 from when my office was being shut down. I made ethernet cables of varying lengths as I needed them.

Eventually they called me back and hired me as management in a new area and I worked there for 7 more years. No regrets. Would steal again.

Most people have a very flaws understanding of anarchism. It absolutely is NOT a society without rules, that's chaos and where the most physically powerful will rule, which is objectively a terrible thing and a big step backwards.

Anarchism is not really a system of government, but the philosophical belief that there should not be a heiarchy in societal laws. It can be applied in many different forms of goverment, most commonly with democracy but there are plenty of anarcho-communist out there. The gist is that systems that promote one group being shown favor, especially at the expense of another, should be dismantled. And what replaces it should be set up to serve and protect all people evenly.

This usually means police abolition and refocusing that energy on the underlining reasons people break "the law". Like providing a minimum level of housing, income and food to all.

I can't summerize the books succiently, but if you are interested The Dispossed and The Conquest of Bread deals with more examples.

We should all just get on board with allowing discrimination based on sex at birth in women’s sport competitions.

No, we need the exact opposite of this but for the same reason.

We should ignore it as an issue because it's literally not an issue. The minuscule number of people it will affect don't warrant national discussion nor legislation. But we should also not cede ground to transphobic bigots that want to use this as precedent "that assigned sex at birth" is relevant in some venues. Next stop is bathrooms and gyms.

More over, scientifically this isn't even a metric that makes sense. What about intersex folk? Their assigned sex at birth inherently doesn't fit in to a binary. It also ignores the numerous cis women who naturally have higher testosterone levels. I get why its an easy solution as transphobia is rampant and dangerous in other areas of life, but thats not a good reason to make inherently flawed laws.

You are missing the point, the polls don't matter. I know it's a wedge issue that republicans slam on, but just because a thing is popular doesn't make it wise.

  • Scientifically (HRT equalizes everything after 2+ years)
  • Philosophically (trans women are women, trans men are men)
  • Politically (sets a precedent of gatekeeping certain areas)
  • Practically (intersex, cis athletes with unique biology)

From every angle you look at it, we can't enshrine ASAB as the end all determination. It's not a compromise that will make transphobic people chill, it will be a victory for them to push more.

Are you really going to tell me that a trans girl who was on puberty blockers as a child and HRT when she is old enough, who never went through "male puberty" at any point physically has some edge and should not be able to be on a girls soccer team? Because that flies in the face of all reason. Setting a law because of popularity instead looking at the facts will cause more problems down the road.

That's tragic, heartbreaking and a good question to ask.

But unfortunately I think the answer is yes. Bigots are happy, any queer death is a reinforcement that their methods work. All are so quick to say "trans people are mentally ill" and the immediately do their best to make that person's life a living hell, which is some twisted cruel logic. They don't want us to exist, they call to exterminate us from public life and they think by making our lives difficult enough we can be shamed in to non-existentance.

We can't let them win. Because victory is literally death, but we will always have to remember those who fell, honor their memory and use their tale as a warning against every piece of shit conservative bathroom bill deadname enforcement and trans healthcare blockade. Because unfortunately, trans people as a whole are very directly under attack. Please vote accordingly.

And that's the really insidious part. The teacher is too ignorant of what she is ignorant of. If Harriet Tubman "might be too woke" then how would this women teach the nuance of protests? Of sit ins? Letters from a Birmingham jail? Much less modern protests. Her daughter is going to grow confidently saying things like

"I know all about black history, just not the woke stuff."

And not even understand the tragic irony.

We're all different. Cis women with equal levels of E also have wildly different features, it's not really something any of us can control outside surgery. It's your life, and your right to move through the world in whatever way makes you most comfortable, content and assured. Stopjng or continuing HRT is a choice that make you no more or less of a woman, I get the appeal of being free of the hassle of pills/shots but even if your progress is slower than you want it to be, I think letting T revert changes would be more upsetting than staying the course.

But that's just my 2 cents Hon, you're still valid af and braver than most for walking down the HRT path in the first place. No matter what you decide, you are worthy of love and respect! ♥ 💕
