They’ve resumed development on this? Huh, that’s interesting. At this point this game has gone through dev hell so I hope it turns out alright.

People don’t typically do dragons well in general tbh. Even when dragons are secondary to the plot, opting for wyverns the no-armed beasts and calling them dragons. It sort of hurts me inside.

But I agree I want more genuine dragons in my media.

(Side note, I haven’t read the OP as to not spoil myself so for all I know OP could be arguing the same thing so sorry for the redundant point if that’s the case.)

The issue with SR Reboot is that they did try to modernize the humor, they went and dove head first to new style of humor and it clearly didn’t work for them.

Wise words

Man, that poison is going to be freaking annoying. I sense Feng all over again.

Can’t make a photo post

Every time I upload a photo I get a syntax error message. I can continue and make the post but no photo is available and then when I click on the post it just links back to itself. This has been happening 2-3 days now. Yesterday it also seemed to be affecting photos I have uploaded within the past 10 days. The photos would just...

Does this affect existing image posts? A few of my posts are acting weird, when I edit them I can see that the image is there but when I just view the post normally it’s like it doesn’t exist.

Call_Me_Maple,

Glad I’m not the only one. Do the images show up for you’re while editing them?

Call_Me_Maple,

Hmm, that’s concerning…

The time of the LLMs is upon us. Settle in everyone, it’s going to be a very bumpy ride.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

At least with the ship of theseus it’s an inanimate object. You could replace any board or sail and still consider it the ship in question. Is it still in fact the ship of theseus? That’s debatable but you could say that it still represents the ship.

In this case BioWare is made up of thinking human beings all that are motivated by different factors. You can’t replace one person with another and expect the same of them even if you got someone who followed the initial person’s logic as closely as possible, they’d still end up with different results to the first.

That is if EA even cares enough to replace the previous developers with like minded individuals which I highly doubt. BioWare of old, make great games while telling the best stories possible. After modern day EA’s influence? Make as much money as you can while puppeteering as the BioWare of old.

That’s how I see it anyways.

Battlepass for a sleep tracker? I’ve seen it all.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

You pay for a drip feed of exclusive content fueled by fomo. It’s the same concept the fact it’s got a different name doesn’t change that. I’ve heard all I need to.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

As you should, devs keep trying to push these wallet suckers onto us. Pushback and avoid I say.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Wonder if it’s going to have DLC that’s half the price of the game. 🙄

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

What’s new in this update?

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Thanks.

Also oh my god that’s a lot of stuff, they really should start charging for these updates because this is like DLC level stuff.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Gotta fluff it up for the masses I suppose.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

The real reason why they dedicated so much time and effort into making ER one of the best RPGs this decade… To elevate their beloved AC. Truly a noble pursuit.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

More Blasphemous, more good. At least from what I’ve heard.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

So, I tried the demo for this when they first showcased it, and I love DON’T NOD a lot, but I just couldn’t get behind this one. Honestly the gameplay was tedious but you get the sense that it’s done like that on purpose, it’s suppose to feel like a goal when you reach the top of whatever you were climbing. Typically to make up for that kind of flow in games, they make the story very rewarding for the player, and I don’t know if it was just me but I just couldn’t bring myself to care about the world I was exploring. When I found notes they didn’t illicit any sort of emotions out of me they just kind of felt like, hey you found a thing good job, enjoy reading about how this person made some soup or something. I dunno, I really wanted to like it from the aesthetic to the vibe, but I just couldn’t. Anyone else kind of feel that way too, or am I crazy?

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Whelp, it looks like I’m going to be CPU bottlenecked.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

What is it with movies releasing in two parts nowadays? Saw the same thing with Across the Spiderverse, and I guess the same thing happened to Ninja Turtles, but I haven’t watched that one so I might be wrong. Fast X too from what I hear.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Maybe not, but why not just make it a series at that point? Or end it in a way that has some closure, with potential for a future movie. Like we’ve done for decades.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Personally I would have been fine with reduced visuals if it meant that they give it space to breath for that worldbuilding in a series format, but to each their own I suppose.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Of course you’d plan to structure the episodes in a way that made sense to the format.

And what evidence do you have in saying splitting a book into movies is easier than doing so into episodes? Just because there are more episodes than there are movies does not equate to difficulty. If you planned for it, it would make just as much sense as a movie.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Okay, it just feels like we’ve started to see a resurgence in this type of film structure because for a while we got a lot of one-offs and trilogies a format that I perfer because there’s no need to watch the next movie to get closure for the last movie you watched. Now it seems that a lot of movies are adopting this big cliffhanger at the end of a story. It may not be rushed, but it’s incomplete.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Which you’d think would be perfect as a series, give each topic and episode the room it needs to breath.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

I gotcha, thanks for letting me know.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

To be fair, OG PSO2 was really good as far as MMOs go.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

That’s not entirely true, I like GOG. But I will say that a big part of why I dislike the use of so many launchers is because 98% of my game library already exists on steam. Publishers would like to use the storefront analogy but I think that gamers look at it more like moving house, and no one likes to move house.

Also you have to consider that a lot of modern day PC gamers grew up with consoles where there are no launchers there is just the home page and the games.

That’s not to touch on the much more prevalent and important topics like privacy concerns and the like.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

I said it one Reddit and I’ll say it here.

All I want out of Hi-Fi Rush now is a sequel, an adult animated series, and a Hibiki snap-back. And maybe some figures of the cast. Hi-Fi Rush was a damn good game, it’d be a shame if we didn’t get more out of it.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction…

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Look, I was enjoying the game a lot, but these articles are getting a little out of hand. I don’t think this game is as huge a triumph as journalists might have you believe.

Yes the gaming landscape is filled with MTX heavy live-services but as much as BG3 is a complete product it’s not as if we don’t still get games like that just look at the other releases in 2023 it started off with freakin’ Hi-Fi Rush.

And for all it’s successes BG3 still has major faults. It preforms terribly after only a few hours of play to what I can only imagine is a memory leak issue but performance issues aside there are mechanical problems that are baked into the core of the game so…

I dunno, I’m glad that the game is finding success and I’m glad that people are enjoying it but it’s just a bit much, I mean Bombrush Cyberfunk just came out and I’ve heard nothing on that game from these outlets.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Your experience is valid but for someone like me who works most days, I gotta take my game time when I can so I usually play for 6-8 hours a day a few times a week and towards the end of my sessions there is a pretty noticeable drop in frames I got from a solid 60 to about 30-40 frames, some days it’s really unplayable.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

The Twisted Metal TV show was a success?

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Yoooo this is an unexpected surprise. Base game was very fun, I’ll have to grab some friends and pick this one up again.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

What’s people’s take on this? Personally I am not excited for another live service team shooter. I just can’t bring myself to care.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Hmm, reminds me of Lawbreakers if that’s the case.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Saw Iron Pineapple play this one, it looks really good with a lot of style, keeping my eyes out for the reviews.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

FPS: Friends Per Second and the SkillUp channel in general. I also keep up to date with AngryJoeShow and his reviews/news videos.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

The picture in the OP is PR for a publishing company. There are many other accounts of people who work in the industry who are angry/jealous of Larian. You’re probably just not looking in the right places.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Who in management exactly? As far as I know Larian is not responsible for the tweets aside from just making a good game.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah, in that case I totally agree. It’s just ineptitude shouting at excellence.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

From all that I’ve seen it’s more like they are trying to dismiss the success that Larian has found by saying that they are a special case which is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Larian did hard work and are being rewarded for it.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

As expected, Pokémon and then CoD primarily. Gamers just wanna catch cool monsters and kill dudes. Kinda messed up tbh but like, whatever.

Call_Me_Maple,
@Call_Me_Maple@lemmy.world avatar

Web3 usually means NFTs. So yeah, you’re reading it right.
