Friend always talks about talking about linux with girls, acts weird and stuff. Its so dramatic, I wonder if he is being sarcastic. On the other hand, he is the only person I know outside of the internet who talks about linux while using a windows laptop as a daily driver
Yeah! maybe they are enjoying it, and the blast off from the stage is just them climaxing. Some are able to submissively survive to the outer edges of the arena, and other characters are edge guard dominant types
You can just walk up to them and talk, but since they are sitting in one of these chairs, they likely will want a brief conversation and be left alone. Also, socializing in other places like a bar or in a park is not outlawed. Do try to be friendly and courteous. The best way to start a conversation is by introducing yourself. Then, hop into what you wanted to talk about. Maybe even try to start with a topic that can transition to your final goal. In the end, there is an intention behind every social interaction, and it can either be casual or formal. Maybe that is what you are desiring, for a known intention/goal to connect with others.
alt textA sign saying: “MEN TEND TO CHOOSE HIGH PAYING PROFESSIONS - LIKE DOCTOR, ENGINEER, CEO, ETC., WHILE WOMEN NATURALLY GO TOWARD LOWER PAYING CAREERS - LIKE FEMALE DOCTOR, FEMALE ENGINEER, AND FEMALE CEO.”
This has to be bait, there is plenty of work that can be done and lots of research to do and plenty of cash to go around. Its the overwhelming greed from the richest people in the world that hold their wealth instead of letting it flow in the economy. Its disgusting how pay is currently is and you should be ashamed for thinking we are hitting some supply limit instead of other major factors at play that are strangling people’s ability to have liveable fair wages.
I said its a linux operating system, and the whole installation from Desktop environment to the compiled kernel and preinstalled executables was carefully made by the KDE team. They literally said Operating system on their mastodon post, “toot,” this lemmy post shows. So its correct what I said
KDE’s plasma centered Linux Operating system. So to not be overly pedantic, I stuck with what this lemmy post was about. I didn’t say the plasma desktop environment was an OS.
I said “a linux operating system made by the KDE team” in which the KDE team referenced their OS as Plasma in the Mastodon post, or “toot,” shown in this lemmy post.
Its a mystery how some of these people are broke af and how they would be more wealthy if they invested the cash in better stuff than blowing it all on impulsive purchases, lottery, and eating out.
Solar now being the cheapest energy source made its rounds on Lemmy some weeks ago, if I remember correctly. I just found this graphic and felt it was worth sharing independently....
It’s wild to me that 19% difference between the drop of on shore wind and solar to the same price point is massive, like that extra 19% drop in solar is quite literally more than half of the solar previous cost, about $230.
So you want a phone strapped to your wrist that can be oriented vertically or horzontally? Some samsung devices sport styluses, namely the ultra phone, that you can use instead of your fingers as it can be hard or impossible to do with gloves on. The unfortunate downside to this is that your arm would get tired after long use, and you are more dependent on headphones/earbuds or speakerphone for calls. A phone attached to your arm could be clumsy for quick actions and needs your hands to be free to use, but you live with what you have.
Maybe instead, a mechanical arm that attaches to your shoulders will be more versatile as you can still do one-handed, and your arm will not get tired. Could maybe include a stabilizer in the design for great video recording capabilities.
The phone or display attached to your arm /wrist will not work for all cases either, so we are just looking for enhancements to those who can take advantage of it. The rest will need either more specialized solutions or don’t need it.
As title says. Obviously I could setup different virtual machines or spend the time and install all the DEs in one VM if it is even possible without breaking the OS. I’m wondering if there is an already made iso or something that installs all the maintained DEs for trying.
The better approach is to grab the most popular distros that have different DE. See how the made their DE and what is possible. Also, think about what your goals are with a DE because if you are researching it then that means you have a desire in mind or want to know what a DE could do for you.
Most of the problems in the current internet landscape is caused by the cost of centralized servers. What problems are stopping us from running the fediverse on a peer to peer torrent based network? I would assume latency, but couldn’t that be solved by larger pre caching in clients? Of course interaction and authentication...
I always shy away from newer tech because of lackluster documentation and poor leadership. The latter is rare enough. Without proper documentation, I feel like I have to read the code and make my own notes to put into their documentation platform. Which is not what I want to do when I use it. Contributing is nice, but when doing something a core member would do without credit, it will dissuade me from participating.

Which clues us in on why Britain wanted to leave. Those in power want more power over their domain, and that includes privacy invasive regulations and laws.

Still need someone to build it for the computer. What would really help the “AI” is to have something that can handle the creation of different interfaces and modules. Then, it would need to solve or mitigate the maintenance conundrum of repairing itself when it breaks.

It’s a community maintained repo. The possibility of updating it yourself is possible. The master branch is updated to the 1.59.124, which came out a week ago. And was updated around the same time. 1.60.110 was just released 1 day ago. You can update it yourself. After all, it’s supposed to give you a great default state to fall back to, not keep you on the bleeding edge of releases.
I know this is controversial, but it was £13 and came with a bunch of filter papera, they dont fit as well as the ligit aeropress ones, bhy they work fine....
Every bit aside for the ones bit is even. All you have to do is get the ones bit(the far right) for it being a 1 or 0. Which is the fastest and least amount of code needed.
use bitwise &
<span style="color:#323232;">// n&1 is true, then odd, or !n&1 is true for even
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> return (!(n & 1));
</span>
<span style="color:#323232;">// n&1 is 1, then odd, else even
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;">return (!(n & 1));

Yep, as always, spinning up a vm of Linux is just so easy and plenty of ways to recover from a bad moment with snapshots and zfs, or easily restart from a fresh premade image. Also, since you can run the vpn on the host, you can make the vpn connection not have to be limited by the vm performance/limited resources and you don’t need to worry of there being a leak of information to the internet about your system or any identifiable info.
I would like there to be an amendment to place basic needs and services as something we do for each other to survive, and anything extra can be traded for anything, even extra work.
From personal experience, the green and red sauce causes me problems. Even Chipotle’s red and green sauce affects me, so it’s not about the cheap or expired stuff. Just my body rejecting it. Anything spicy does me in, but not all spices or hot spice.
I admit this is hot af, but not lewd enough to justify NSFW. But people throw NSFW on posts like Sriracha. So it could use one but not necessary to force a moderators hand into doing something about this particular incident. If anything I wish there was sauce
I’m actually alright with this, which seems to be an unpopular opinion. It seems totally sensible for them to ask why you don’t want to use Edge and would rather use Chrome.
I wish for Microsoft to mind their business when I download another browser. A web developer or someone excersizing their freedom of choice should not need to deal with petty and sorry looking surveys.
On the other hand, it is fine to ask how the browser experience is like but not this.
If we want to prevent monopolies, we need healthy competition. If Microsoft improves Edge based on this user feedback to create an actually good product, then we all win. It means that if Firefox starts to pull the shit that Google is doing, we have a solid alternative.
Unfortunately, this privacy invasive feature goes against this concept because it already made the browser worse. Also, Edge is chromium based. Mozilla, Apple’s Safari, and Chromium are the only true browser choices. Edge may bring some UX features, but they are data harvesting focused and not the core browser mechanisms. Microsoft is taking the work Google, and the chromium community puts into the code base and then running their own data harvesting UX on top. It is not a “alternative” browser choice, ever.
With Microsoft’s track record, this survey is not to improve the browser but to harvest more data to pinpoint your identity and behavior to sell to advertisers and data analysts. So the “manner” Microsoft does this is more of a reason for not wanting to have this.
picking between a turd sandwich and a giant douche, what a decision to make. Firefox all the way, nothing stinky happening in that direction, no need to just pick between the two because it will always be NEITHER
Which is something you will need to do to not accept their privacy invasive terms and conditions that you have to accept before using the bloated data harvesting browser.
Truth, these type of announcements are meant to instill a sense if something better is coming if we just wait. It’s a honest strategy if there is truly something in the works but right now a lot of misinformation is just making it an bad strategy to use.
