Israel and Palestine Are Both Terrible, Israel a Bit Less

From what I understand of the current Israel-Palestine conflict, both countries have been at each other’s throats for years. Both have launched unprovoked attacks, and both have killed civilians. Neither country comes out of this smelling like roses.

In the current conflict, though, Hamas attacked Israeli civilians, and Israel responded with an all-out attack. This seems like a justifiable response to me. If someone attacks you with a knife and you’re carrying a gun, you’re going to shoot them.

While I can’t honestly say I “support” either side, I tend to support Israel a bit more.

If someone attacks you don’t go murder all the people he met and knew. Defending Israel is like defending ISIS if they was able to create a state inside the USA

Hamas literally started this conflict by massacring college kids and babies.

Hate to tell you this, but war has always been like this. Israel is at least attempting to target combatants, and causing a ton of collateral damage in the process. When Hamas attacked, the civilian casualties weren’t collateral–they were the whole point.

I’m just saying your initial metaphor was bullshit, and should’ve been more like “somebody murders your wife & kids, so you put a bomb in his apartment, hoping to kill him while accepting that other people will die too” or something. Nobody’s hands are clean here, Hamas very deliberately massacred civilians and only civilians, and posted videos bragging about it.

As for the images you are talking about they was flagged by ai detectors. “somebody murders your wife & kids, so you put a bomb in his apartment, hoping to kill him while accepting that other people will die too” What a terrible mentality and it also prove that you don’t care at all about innocents people from Palestinian side. While me I’m against killing civilians from both side. There was around 300 israelian soldiers that died.

If you have someone oppressing you and taking your territory eventually cutting you off from the outside world in what is often referred to as the largest open air prison in the world and you have the capacity for violence is it unreasonable to expect you will use it? If the oppressor then slams you, hurts you very badly, and lies about what they will do to the rest of the world are they really supportable?

To be clear, I think the leadership of both Hamas and the Israeli government are acting for their own interests to the exclusion of the interests of their people. Both are attacking civilians, both are committing war crimes, both are increasing the cycle of violence. One of them has the backing of the west in a significant way and is oppressing the other, stealing land and frequently killing civilians, the other is ineffectively fighting back. Both wrong, one more powerful and more genocidal, maybe you could not support either and support the people in both, the citizens who are just trying to survive.

I dont think many people disagree that Hamas and the terrorists need to be eliminated.

The issue I have is that they have the technology to do strikes with surgical precision to honestly try and minimize civilization losses. Instead they’re using a sledgehammer to decimate the homes and communities of innocent people.

The way the Israeli army removes Hamas matters, and they’re choosing to kill innocent people just like Hamas did.
