I wish it wasn’t so hard to keep doing this shit every day. I sometimes wish that pickup truck killed me when he hurled me from my bike. He took away my strength, my power and my body from me. I used to be so strong and now I can barely hobble to my desk everyday. I hate it. I hate my weak and terrible body and despite all my hard work I have to accept this is as good as it ever gets. Maybe it’s not worth the effort. Maybe I should just give up. Who would even care if I did?

And even though we stray from the ideal of what we think life should be - even though there is still great suffering - there is hope. I care about you. I don’t even know who you are, and you don’t know me. But I care about your life, I hope you push through the suffering. We might agree and get along. We might be on opposites in our ideology, we might disagree, we might even hate every ounce of what the other stands for. But there is purpose to your life. There is a purpose for all of us. It may be hard to find - it may only be what we make of life. But it is there, and it is found in other people. It took hearing that from someone else to finally understand that. I still need to hear it often. But keep living, even when it seems hopeless. Even one more moment of joy is worth the suffering. I’ve been there. I’ve had years of pain since I tried to end it. But I’ve also had moments of love, of joy, of connection to those around me, that are worth every moment of pain. Reach out to those around you. Just talk to them. It’s hard, I know. #citiesskylines2 I know the game was basically released unfinished, but I think it's really strange that the only way to tax residential is by education level. I think they tried to equate education level with zoning density? I've noticed that the demand for various densities depends almost entirely on how many students at each education level you have: university students demand high density, college students demand low rent and mixed, high school demands medium density and row houses, etc.
Seems like it would make more sense to tax based on wealth (which the game tracks with Wretched, Poor, Comfortable, Wealthy) and/or the zoning density (Low, Row, Medium, Mixed, Low Rent, High). That would line up with real life a lot better, like income tax and real estate tax respectively.
It's a shame because the commercial, industrial, and office tax modifiers are super granular and based on the particular industry! I also love the "input-output-blackbox" diagram that shows what each industry needs in terms of resources for input - both tangible and intangible! - and what they provide as a product or service for output.
"Fuck it" is the most powerful and subsequently destructive phrase in the English language, allowing one to ignore consequence in favor of pure action, with the tactic acceptance that you've likely released forces far beyond your control.
For a phrase with so much destructive potential, it's interesting to note that the root of the phrase goes back to sex, the act of creation, and even possibly love. Sex is the effort to produce a child, a force which will, whether you like it or not, grow beyond your control.
"Kill it" doesn't have the oomph. Why not, when it essentially speaks to the same destructive dynamic and disregard of consequence?
Because "kill it" invokes death, which is to put to rest. "Fuck it" invokes life, which is to spark chaos.

When I think "Genesis/Mega Drive twang" I think Fatal Rewind, a.k.a. The Killing Game Show. Maybe there's a better game that shows off that signature sound, but I'd struggle to name it. Any ideas? Maybe The Ooze?
I have an idea for a game where the premise is to go from living paycheck to paycheck, to being a billionaire. I could include an in-game stock market, in-game jobs of various salaries and recreational activities, so you have to balance the amount of money you gain with how much you spend, and you have to upkeep your own physical and mental well being.
I'd also have your expenses scale proportionately with your earnings, have your landlord raise your rent for no reason, have your job reduce your hours or cut your bonus, etc. The tutorials that tell you how to play the game are in-game items randomized in a loot box format, and you have to pay in-game currency to unlock them. But no matter how closely you follow the advice, no matter how many of them you unlock, and no matter how much grinding and climbing you do, you can never succeed. But then the kicker, I program in a microscopic chance that you start the game with $50 million dollars, and parents/lawyers who bail you out no matter how much you lose, such that you are guaranteed to eventually succeed.
I wanna see A) how long it takes for regular people to figure out it's impossible to win, B) how long it takes for the randomly selected billionaires to brag how fast they could beat the game, and C) how long it takes for those people to collide.
