Wer kennt es denn nicht? Das Schwenken einer weißen Fahne - das Signal der Bedrohung seit Anbeginn der Zeit. Nichts schreit mehr ‘ich bin gefährlich’. Weiß ist schließlich eine Warnfarbe.
Was gibt’s denn dazu noch zu sagen? Eine Geisel konnte vor den Soldaten fliehen und wurde dann trotzdem im Nachhinein erschossen. Hier wird nichtmal von offizieller Seite bezweifelt, dass dies falsch war.
Vermutlich passieren ähnliche Vorfälle immer wieder. Das ist für mich der eigentliche Skandal. Ein Menschenleben scheint in Gaza nichts wert zu sein. Diesmal kommt allerdings auch von israelischer Seite ein Aufschrei weil’s die eigenen erwischt hat. So tragisch wie dieser Vorfall ist, vielleicht öffnet er ja wenigstens ein paar Leuten die Augen.

Ohne Quantifikation ist das leider nicht so einfach. Sinnloses Töten ist eines der vielen ekelhaften vielen Dinge, die untrennbar mit jedem Krieg verbunden sind. Selbst Soldaten werden sehr oft von ihren Kameraden erschossen. Knapp 20% der Verluste der IDF bisher waren friendly fire. Und natürlich lassen sich auch Kriegsverbrechen wie das absichtliche Erschießen von Zivilisten nicht ganz verhindern, wenn ein größerer Krieg geführt wird. Soldaten im Krieg sind dazu angehalten zu töten, müssen also tagtäglich bereit sein das wichtigste Tabu der Menschheit zu brechen. Natürlich führt das dazu, dass viele den Wert des menschlichen Lebens vergessen und zu Mördern werden.
Die politisch relevante Frage hier ist also, wie häufig das wirklich passiert, welche Maßnahmen die IDF dagegen ergreift und was man hier wirklich erwarten kann. Wenn man das ganze z.B. mit Falludscha vergleicht, kann man schon Indizien sehen, dass die IDF zu viele zivile Opfer in Kauf nimmt, aber sicher sagen kann so etwas eigentlich erst lange nach dem Ende des Konflikts.
Bei dir liest sich das so als ob, sobald jemand eine weiße Fahne schwenkt, die Gegenseite aufm Schlachtfeld sofort alle ihre Waffen niederlegen müsse, weil von denen ja wie durch ein Naturgesetz keine Gefahr ausgehen könne.
Die Realität sieht leider anders aus.

Das die Terroristen der Hamas eine weiße Fahne schwenken um die Soldaten der IDF in einen Hinterhalt zu locken, ist nun wirklich nicht so unwahrscheinlich. Auch nicht, dass sie dafür israelische Geiseln benutzen, die benutzen schließlich auch ihre eigene Bevölkerung als menschliche Schutzschilde.
Damit möchte ich nicht sagen, dass die IDF hier richtig gehandelt hat, das haben sie nicht, wie auch ein Militärsprecher selbst sagte.
Aber deine Idee, dass sobald jemand eine weiße Fahne schwenke, könne gar keine Gefahr von ihm ausgehen, ist realitätsfern.
Was halt haargenau passiert ist ist folgendes: (Mindestens) Oberkörperfreie Geiseln haben weiße Fahne geschwenkt. Soldat sieht sie und schreit „Terroristen“ und sofort öffnen mehrere Soldaten das Feuer. Als einer der Soldaten überlebt, flieht und auf Hebräisch nach Hilfe ruft, schießen die Soldaten weiter um ihm den Rest zu geben.
Netanyahu persönlich hat den Vorfall als unglaubliche Tragödie bezeichnet. Was gibt’s da noch zu rechtfertigen?
Das ist zwar nicht bindend aber mir fällt es irgendwie schwer mir vorzustellen, dass die wirklich in der Koalition bleiben könnten, sollten die Mitglieder klar dagegen votieren.
Ich habe gar keine Vorstellung über die Stimmung bei der FDP Basis. Kennt da irgendwer einen entsprechenden Medienartikel, der das näher beleuchtet?
Ich würde sogar noch weiter gehen. Ich habe so gar keine Ahnung warum irgendwer überhaupt bei der FDP Mitglied ist bzw. wie sich das zwischen Leuten die selber hoffen Politiker zu werden und dann bestochen zu werden und Leuten die nur Politiker bestechen wollen und sonstigen aufteilt.

Social media and search engines drive traffic to news sites, these morons are shooting themselves in the foot and reducing their own revenue.
I get that, but it’s not just linking, we all know most people only read the headline, and on top of that sites like Google and FB will summarize the article now too which means a good chunk of people won’t click on it. I’ll compromise that both sides are throwing a tantrum and no one is willing to just stop and say “This is how we could compromise on it”.
That’s fair, with the summaries and what not. This isn’t a game the news corps should be playing, though. If meta/Google actually deliver and hold out this time, they could tank the Canadian news market within a couple of months, forcing a reversal.
Honestly I think the article is pretty fair, overall.
The biggest difference between having a massive right wing pseudo-fascist party in a government majority and that same party leading the majority is how little they feel the need to feign. Like now the right hand man of Meloni can totally bring up the craziest world conspiracy with no proof at all, say he didn't know it was a bad thing only to repeat the same things a week after.
The politicians just don't have to pretend anymore, and they're slowly stretching the boundaries of what's normal in favour of their own plans.
As for the life of everyday people, I'd be hard pressed to find someone, anyone, actually praising this government in public, everyone I hear talking about whatever they come up with is either disgusted or concerned.
I believe what's happening now is the same thing that was happening back in Berlusconi's days: the ones voting for these people are aware that what they're doing is wrong and they hide in shame until they're sure they're surrounded only by the right people.

As per everywhere, there are many that are concerned, scared or downright enraged but the vast majority will simply accept whatever happens because the vast majority of people, always, everywhere, just want to not have problems knock on the door.
Italy is living through a major social crisis since years and years. This is just the last events that caught the eye of the international public but this right / populist leaning have been happening already since 10+ years ago.
Already with the “5 star movement” it was obvious that there was some distress going on.
The reality is that the longest we stay divided as communities / countries, they easier we get influenced or simply get down the wrong road without nobody saying something because everyone’s busy doing its own thing.
Italian here. All politicians are fascists powertripping not just the ones who made it public. See Macron. Governments live behind a veil of lies and don’t get to show their true face unless needed, if there were serious protests in any “democratic” country in the world i can guarantee you that the reaction would be the same: they would unleash police on people and threat everyone.
This is the exact thing I am concerned about, they pick on some but not on others.
To me it looks like it is just medua game to push someone people controling the media don’t like. I don’t think Meloni is good by any means, but from my angle looks less or on same level of fascist like Macron, Anglela Merkel, Biden, Hillary… or most others top politicians (when you look at their influence in other countries and not just what media is promoting).

They endangered Russians that trusted them with information about what was happening there after the invasion. People who were not pro-war.
The video is public and so is the orientation of the camera. The missile came from the direction of Ukraine. If Russia has the capability of sending missiles that can literally pull a 180 degree midair turn, do you really think they’d use that on a market?

NATO and the EU have been abundantly clear that Ukraine is not going to be admitted into NATO.
The reason Russia invaded Ukraine is because the US was attempting to create the conditions for stationing nuclear capabilities along the Russia-Ukraine border. The same border through which Russia was invaded twice and cost them millions of lives. Are you saying they should have waited until the USA had successfully installed those nuclear capabilities before invading so that they would be invading a country with nukes? That would be daft suicide.
That article is from July. In August and in September there have been a large number of articles about why Ukraine can’t and won’t join NATO. Many NATO countries are putting requirements that Ukraine can’t meet. NATO itself is putting requirements that Ukraine refuses to meet.
As for Ukraine giving up nukes thanks to the USA, I don’t think you understand anything about the situation. Ukraine was neutral and remained neutral as a condition of Russian national security. Ukraine having nukes meant Russia wasn’t going to invade it but also that the USA wasn’t going to invade it either. Having nukes meant Ukraine was stable and could remain neutral. Getting rid of Ukrainian nukes meant that suddenly conflagration was on the table. And the USA activated the Nazis and created a hot conflict back in 2008. 6 years later they supported the right-wing coup that wanted NATO, a transnational nuclear military, to establish it’s capabilities within the country. So now we have no nukes owned by Ukraine, a non-neutral Ukraine, and the march of a nuclear military to Russia’s border.
So yes, you can decontextualize historical facts all day long to craft whatever narrative you want. When you put the history together, the actual trajectory becomes quite clear.

I have no quarrel with communism. I do have a problem with Putin, corruption, and how he treats both his people and the Ukrainian people as cannon fodder.
Okay well by your logic, If Russia and Ukraine hadn’t been separated by the destruction of the Soviet Union, the conditions for this war would never have been set, which means that actually America holds the blame for all the deaths in this war, in addition to the record number of deaths caused by the dissolution of the USSR. Not to mention all the Nazi sleeper cells we’ve left all over Europe to create just such a situation- ever hear of Operation Gladio?
Frankly, if youre going to argue that the government with more control of a situation is responsible for every death, a good-faith extrapolation of that belief would have you shouting death to America with your whole heart, because the world military hegemon is responsible for more deaths around the world every single week than the entirety of this meat grinder war. The normal conditions of Pax Americana are more wretchedly gore-soaked and evil than anything we are taught to pearl clutch and grandstand about when other countries do them.

If you really care about knowing who’s responsible, just count the new swimming pools in Langley.
TLDR Russia is taking it’s most logical path forward in a no-win scenario that the US went to extraordinary, murderous lengths to orchestrate.
Ich stehe auf beiden Seiten, fahre viel Auto, aber bei schönem Wetter auch immer Fahrrad, wenn es geht (seit 3 Jahren eBike und ca. 800km jährlich). Und auf beiden Seiten findest Du immer Deppen. Ich muss aber sagen, dass ich mit dem Fahrrad vielleicht nur einmal im Monat einen Moment erlebe, wo ich den Kopf schüttle (Fußgänger laufen einfach auf Radweg als wärs der Gehweg) oder ein Auto aus der Ausfahrt geschossen kommt. Aber als Autofahrer erlebe ich es auch “genau so oft”, dass etwa Rechts-vor-Links-Situationen ignoriert werden oder einfach Spur gewechselt wird ohne zu blinken und zu gucken.
Also Fazit: Man muss leider für alle mitdenken und einfach umsichtig und vorausschauend fahren. Ein “ICH HAB ABER RECHT”-Denken bringt einen nicht weiter und als Radfahrer ist es auch potentiell tödlich.
Ich stimme da zu, aber meiner Meinung nach lenkt diese Argumentation von dem eigentlichen Problem ab, nämlich das Autos tödlich sind, und meistens nicht für den Mensch der drin sitzt. Auch als als Lösung für die Unzufriedenheit sind Fahrräder besser geeignet als mehr Autos.
Also, ich denke Unzufriedenheit und Gefährlichkeit sind zwei wichtige aber unterschiedliche Probleme.
und in diesem wertesystem steht “Wohlstand erhalten” vor Gerechtigkeit. Beispiele gibts abermillionen. Lass uns LNG Terminals nehmen. Erhalten den Wohlstand, sind ungerecht wegen Bürgerwiderstand oder der definitiv illegalen Umweltbelastung wie in Bremerhaven.
Unter keinen Umständen wird in DE Gerechtigkeit über den Erhalt von Wohlstand gestellt. Nimm die Reparationen an Nabia die anstehen - der Wohlstand hier wird durch keine der jemals geleisteten Reparationen angetastet und andererseits ist kein Land mit den Reparationem happy. Frag mal Polen.
Ich bin in meiner gesamten Kindheit nie weggefahren und könnte es mir es nun zwar leisten, aber… ich habe tatsächlich auch nie die Lust entwickelt. Besser für die Umwelt.

Wir sind in meiner Jugend unnötig viel gereist (wenn auch eher mit dem Auto als mit dem Flugzeug), und ich fand das damals schon ziemlich blöd. Irgendwann hatte ich dann dieses sagenumwobene verfügbare Einkommen und bin ein paar Mal wirklich unnötig in den Urlaub geflogen, ohne großes Nachdenken, einfach weil man das halt so gemacht hat.
Heute wünschte ich, ich hätte die Dinge mehr so gesehen wie du. Man muss sich nur mal vor Augen führen, wie idiotisch viele Fernreisen sind. Surfen am Bondi Beach ist nicht viel inspirierender als anderswo, auch wenn es im Zweifelsfall mehr Likes auf Instagram bringt.

Katamari Damacy is one of the greatest games of all time. It’s a shame the creator doesn’t get rewarded more for it. Definitely looking forward to seeing what he does next.
